COZUMEL
DIVING
Cozumel,
the island of swallows is Mexico's largest island and
considered the mecca of Caribbean diving. An hour drive
from Cancún and a 40 minute ferry crossing will
bring you upon the deep crystal clear waters of Cozumel,
famed for up to 150ft visibility, wall diving, colorful
reefs and diversity in marine wildlife.
Divers
can admire the breathtaking walls of Santa Rosa or Palancar
where you can weave in and out through caves and tunnels
and unexpectedly come head to head with sea turtles,
nurse sharks, large grouper and spotted eagle rays,
here the corals thrive from ocean currents bringing
nutrients and food, allowing the soft corals, including
sponges to grow up to 20ft in size.
Take
a drift on your second tank with maximum bottom time
and allow your guide to look for the endemic splendid
toadfish, tiny seahorses and nudibranches hidden in
the colorful corals of cozumel, bring your camera! |
